Lucknow Metro Phase 2: New East-West Corridor to Connect Charbagh to Vasant Kunj
LMRC has announced Phase 2 of Lucknow Metro, expanding the network with a new East-West corridor.
Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has announced the Phase 2 expansion of the Lucknow Metro, adding an East-West corridor that will significantly expand the network.
Current Phase 1 (operational):
•North-South corridor: CCS Airport to Munshipulia
•21 stations, 22.9 km
Phase 2 East-West Corridor:
•Route: Charbagh (Railway Station) to Vasant Kunj (East Lucknow)
•Length: 11.16 km
•Stations: 11
•Integration: Interchange with Phase 1 at Charbagh station
Significance: The East-West corridor will connect Lucknow's busiest rail junction (Charbagh) to the rapidly developing eastern suburbs. The interchange at Charbagh with the existing North-South line will create Lucknow's first metro interchange station.
Expected completion of Phase 2: 2027.
